Thanks for your reply. And sorry for a late reply. The unfriendliness of the forum software sadly means I don't come here as often as I used to.

I never got a reply from the developers to my questions:

1. Why announce a post to the general public that nobody can read except for the exclusive group of developers; as described by Nick?

2. If such exclusivity must be announced generally, could we get an indication up front? Such indication would not only save lesser beings wasting time but would also offer the original author an opportunity to rectify a possibly absent minded click on the "developers only" box.
