I haven't experienced problems with blocking. Likely because I never received the 27 April signature update. Will it arrive anytime soon?

    Cheers

    Hi Tony,

Thanks for your reply. And sorry for a late reply. The unfriendliness of the forum software sadly means I don't come here as often as I used to.

I never got a reply from the developers to my questions:

    1. Why announce a post to the general public that nobody can read except for the exclusive group of developers; as described by Nick?

    2. If such exclusivity must be announced generally, could we get an indication up front? Such indication would not only save lesser beings wasting time but would also offer the original author an opportunity to rectify a possibly absent minded click on the "developers only" box.

    Cheers,

    Peter

    What is the BIG secret??

Tony Ellis has a post titled "Kernel Panic on ClearOS 6.7 with kernel 2.6.32-573.1.1.v6 and i915 drivers ". I use the same kernel and might get informed by Tony's post should I experience issues. Yet, I get a "Sorry, you don't have sufficient credentials" when I try to read it; presumably because Tony checked the "Make this post private. Only moderators would be able to view and reply to your discussion." box.

What is the point of a public forum announcing posts the users cannot read? And if such posts really are relevant, could the forum at least identify them up front so I and others don't have to click the headline before finding out that this is not for us?

    Cheers,

  • Another silly question and a few thoughts...

    1. I note you use authenticated proxy. Did you set up the Grandstream to authenticate?

    2. I agree with Frederik, that either STUN or ICE is required. I use STUN and it works like a dream. However, VOIPO does not advertise supporting STUN so you need either setting it up using a public STUN server - anyone will do - or find out how you set up STUN (or ICE) with VOIPO.

    3. I notice from VOIPO's installation instructions that the Grandstream appears to be provisioned over the net. The Proxy Server may get in the way of the provisioning process. I once had that problem. Explaining the issue to my VOIP provider enabled them to resolve it from their end.

Either way, opening ports or otherwise exposing the Grandstream directly to the internet should be avoided at all cost. If you can't get the VOIPO service to work, I suggest dropping them in favor of buying your own voip box (or use your old Obihai 202 if its open for configuration) and then using one of the many voip services that do not wall you into a closed garden. That's what I do and have done for the last 10 years. It works like a dream and costs me about $60 a year for two incoming phone numbers (US and Denmark respectively) and unlimited outgoing national and international calls. The wife loves it!

    Cheers,

    Peter

  • Actually the install media may be the issue. The ML310 G1 came with a Pentium 4 and they were 32 bit only until 2004. If your G1 is old enough you are up against COS 7 supporting 64 bit only.

    Cheers,

    Re: Final Fantasy Heavensward Launcher

Another possibility is the proxy getting in the way. I once had that problem for external provisioning of a VOIP box. Bypassing the proxy solved the issue.

I tried to install the AMD drivers. The installer generated a screen full of dependency problems.

There are several threads regarding installation of of the Catalyst drivers in the CentOS forums. Take a look at at this. The last post on page one seems relevant.

I guess the issue is lack of drivers for the Radeon graphics unit. I havn't done this myself but suspect getting COS installed and running requires something like the following steps:

    1. Disable the radeon graphics unit in BIOS (I assume that is possible - I don't have an A6 myself)
    2. Install COS
    3. Find and install AMD's latest linux drivers for radeon graphics for RHEL 7.1 (or 6.6 if that is your choice). Its available from AMD here
    4. Enable radeon graphics using AMD's Catalyst software.

You may need to do a bit of experimenting but it should be quite possible.

    Cheers
