    Hi all,

    This is my attempt to write a guide for different alternatives for ClearOS.
    I will update this first post with the pros and cons of other OS's.
    Feel free to add a new one to the list and please share your thoughts and wishes.

    At first I thought that there are no alternatives for COS, until I read this post:

    1. NethServer 7
    Operational since: 2015-01-28
    Current release: 7.9.2009 (torrent)
    Based on: CentOS
    PHP version: unknown
    SQL version: unknown
    Next release: NethServer 8 (Installation & First steps)
    Based on: Containers

    Pros:
    Free community version available
    Cons:
    NethServer 8 doesn’t have any firewall capabilities.
